Thirty years of craft.
One table at a time.
Jeffers Woodshop didn't begin as a business plan. It began the way most things worth doing begin — quietly, in a garage, out of a genuine love for the work.
For over three decades, John Jeffers has worked with wood. He learned its grain, its movement, its character. He learned which species age with grace and which joints hold for generations. Long before the first customer ever called, he was simply a craftsman who couldn't stop building.

Built on more than skill
When friends and neighbors started asking John to build tables for their homes, something shifted. What had been a private pursuit became a calling. Each commission carried a new weight — not just the expectation of quality, but the understanding that a dining table occupies a singular place in a family's life.
That conviction is at the center of every piece that leaves the Forney shop. John builds each table from 100% solid hardwood — never veneers, never particle board — using construction methods engineered for decades of daily life. The joinery is tight. The finish is earned. The result is something that improves with age.
A craftsman and a father
John started Jeffers Woodshop as a husband and a father — motivated not just by the craft, but by what the craft could build. He wanted work he was proud of. Work that supported his family while helping other families create something lasting.
He and his wife Carly are raising four daughters — Morgan, Grace, Brooklyn, and Chloe — in the same community where the tables are built. That proximity matters. It means every piece leaves this shop with a name attached to it, and a reputation on the line.

No two are alike
Every board of hardwood carries its own history — its grain shaped by decades of growth, its character unique to that tree, that season, that stand of timber. John works with that individuality rather than against it. The result is furniture that cannot be replicated, only commissioned.
Each table is built to order from our shop in Forney, Texas — sized, designed, and finished around your home, your style, and the way your family gathers. There is no production line. There is no off-the-shelf version. There is only the table we build together.
